Charlie Mullins, the outspoken founder of Pimlico Plumbers, has led an interesting romantic life over the years. So who is Charlie Mullins actually married to currently?
Well, despite dating Raquel since 2020 and getting engaged in 2021, Charlie is still technically single. His last marriage ended in divorce back in 2008. Charlie was married to his second wife Alexandra Anka, daughter of singer Paul Anka, for six years.
Prior to Alexandra, Charlie was married to first wife Elaine for over three decades until their split in 1995. Together Charlie and Elaine have two children – daughter Julie and son Scott. It’s clear family is important to Charlie, who is now keen to start a new brood with Raquel.
Speaking about plans to have a baby,
Charlie told OK! magazine: “On the children side, we’re practising! That’s all in the pipeline and we don’t want it to affect Raquel’s career but people have babies and they still carry on on the stage.”
Charlie’s road to romance with Raquel started back in September 2020 when they met at Andy’s Beach Bar in Marbella. Charlie owns a villa there and aspiring singer Raquel was visiting for some sunshine. She caught his eye but romance didn’t blossom for about 10 months.
Raquel ended up moving into Charlie’s London penthouse during lockdown for a place to stay. Spending so much time together, an unbreakable bond was formed (excuse the pun). As Raquel put it: “I think we became inseparable and if he was anywhere socialising with anyone he’d always invite me and vice versa.”
The loved-up couple also share the same fierce work ethic and desire for success. According to Charlie: “We’re both serious about work. Raquel’s 100% into her singing. She is going to get to the top.” He admires his younger fiancée’s “determination” and drive to make it in the music industry.
It seems part of the secret to Charlie and Raquel’s romance is their compatibility when it comes to humour too. As Charlie explained: “When we’re together we always have a good time and I think others find us entertaining. If we were both serious it just wouldn’t work.”
The couple’s 34-year age gap clearly isn’t an issue for them. And why should it be? They make each other happy and are excited to blend their families by having children together soon.
As for wedding plans,
Charlie and Raquel hope to tie the knot at the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral in London this year. Charlie joked his OBE gets them special permission to marry there, quipping: “Well [Tom Jones]’s got $300 million, he can buy the block!”
Indeed, Charlie and Raquel’s neighbour happens to be none other than singing legend Sir Tom Jones. The couple revealed plans to try and buy the apartment above theirs, currently occupied by Tom, to connect it to their penthouse.
While Tom may have to go flat-hunting if their purchase goes through, Charlie and Raquel seem focused on their future together for now. They can’t wait to get married and believe babies won’t be far behind.
