Tiffany Stratton is one of the fastest-rising stars in WWE. Making her main roster debut at the 2024 Royal Rumble, Stratton entered at number 29 and successfully eliminated Roxanne Perez before being eliminated by Bayley. Only weeks later, Stratton moved up permanently when she was signed to SmackDown. Since then, the star has been part of the Elimination Chamber match in Perth, Australia, and keeps getting closer to securing a Women’s Title shot. In this article we talk about WWE Tiffany Stratton Finally Speaks Out, Annoyed by AEW Comparison!
Most recently, Stratton took on Naomi in a Number 1 Contender’s match, only for the bout to be thrown out due to interference from Nia Jax. Stratton was furious as she believed she had the match won before Jax got involved. It seems only a matter of time before Tiffany earns herself a championship opportunity on the blue brand.
Rising Attention Leads to AEW Comparisons
Since gaining more attention for her work on the blue brand, fans have been comparing Stratton to other stars, including AEW’s Mariah May. During a recent appearance on ComicBook Nation, Stratton admitted she found the comparisons annoying, although she believes May is “amazing.”
“Obviously, it’s annoying. Just because we have the same coloured hair it does not mean that we look alike or we stealing each other’s gimmicks or styles. I get compared to so many other people, Trish Stratus, Charlotte Flair. Honestly, I think everyone is on their own path, and I think Mariah May is amazing. She’s such a great wrestler, she’s gorgeous. But yeah, it can be annoying for sure, but I feel like wrestling fans are going to be wrestling fans and [they think] everyone is always a copy of this person or this person is imitating this person. So it’s nothing new, to be honest.”
Stratton went on to explain that she tries not to pay too much attention to online comparisons and critics, believing that focusing on her own career is what matters most. At just 25 years old, Tiffany feels she has a very long and successful career ahead of her in WWE.
Former WWE Star Calls Out Stratton
Recently, former WWE star Dana Brooke blasted Tiffany Stratton for “stealing everyone’s moves.” The attack came after Natalya praised Brooke – now known as ‘Ash By Elegance’ in Impact Wrestling – for her Swanton Bomb. A fan claimed Stratton’s version was better, leading Ash to claim Stratton not only steals moves, but gimmicks too, before calling her a “knock off Barbie.”
Stratton laughed off the comments when asked about them in a recent interview. “I mean, [Ash] is entitled to her opinion. I think my Swanton Bomb is better than hers! But in all honesty, I don’t steal moves or gimmicks from anyone. I’m out there being Tiffany Stratton, which is really all that matters to me. If others want to complain or take shots, then so be it.”
Tiffany added that she actually looked up to Dana Brooke when first starting out in NXT and holds no ill will towards her at all. However, Stratton made clear she is proud of what she has achieved so far and won’t let others detract from her rapid rise over the past year.
Stratton Focused on Her Own Success
With WrestleMania rapidly approaching, Tiffany Stratton hopes she can earn herself a championship match in time for the Showcase of the Immortals. When asked who she would like to face on the Grandest Stage Of Them All, Stratton namedropped Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair as dream opponents.
“Can you imagine me versus Rhea at WrestleMania? That would be awesome. She’s so badass and talented, I think we could tear the house down. But obviously facing Charlotte Flair on the biggest show of the year would be amazing too. She is the greatest of all time. So yeah, give me Rhea or Charlotte at Mania, sign me up!”
No matter who stands across from Stratton on April 1st/2nd, there is no doubt Tiffany Stratton is destined for big things in WWE. At just 25 years old, the future is incredibly bright for the confident superstar. With her quick rise over the past year, unprecedented success seems likely moving forward.
As for comparisons with other talents, including AEW’s Mariah May, it seems Tiffany Stratton is focused squarely on her own path. By striving for championship gold and a career-making WrestleMania moment, Stratton plans to let her performances do the talking. If she achieves her lofty goals over the next year, all comparisons will surely fade away.
