The boxing world was rocked this week when it was revealed that rising star Ryan Garcia had failed a drug test prior to his career-defining win over previously unbeaten Devin Haney last month. Garcia tested positive for the banned substance ostarine, a performance-enhancing drug, just one day before dominantly defeating Haney via majority decision on April 20th. In this article we talk about Ryan Garcia Failed Drug Test, Conor McGregor ‘Disgusted’?

The failed test garnered widespread condemnation from boxers and MMA fighters alike, but none were as vocal as UFC superstar Conor McGregor. In a series of fiery social media posts, McGregor blasted Garcia for cheating and threatened violent retribution if they ever meet.

“Cheated the weight and was juiced, lifetime ban,” McGregor fumed. “Sad to see, sad to say. Sad and a bit sick. Don’t come near me if I see you ever Ryan Garcia. I am actually disgusted.”

McGregor compared Garcia to UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley,

Who also tested positive for ostarine in the past. “This ostarine reminds me of Sean O’Malley was on that as well. I don’t like this, I’ll bust yous both up, do you want a spar I will set flight right now for you both for a full on spar each,” he threatened.

The outspoken Irishman continued his tirade, challenging both Garcia and O’Malley to meet him for a sparring session. “Hotel, black forge inn the lot. #LetsSparOMalley and #Garcia two little ostarine heads I’ll ride you both like yous are ostriches,” he wrote.

McGregor then turned his ire directly at Garcia, attacking his character and manhood.

“Wtf is up. What do you think you are at? If I was Haney’s dad you’re dead no matter what for doing that. Crazy. What the f–k happened to you, you little fool. Get your head together cos I’m gonna smash it in with elbows if you don’t.”

The former two-division UFC champion praised Haney for his gutsy performance against Garcia despite the failed drug test. “Fair play Devin well done. Your performance has just become even more heroic! Bravo.”

He closed his rant with a final warning shot at Garcia: “GET YOUR HEAD TOGETHER OR KILL YOURSELF.”

Garcia was quick to fire back at McGregor in an X video, denying ever having taken steroids and questioning McGregor’s own supplement use.

“I’ve never taken anything illegal. I don’t know where this is coming from,” Garcia claimed. “And McGregor, don’t get me started about you and your little steroid ass. I’m gonna break your other ankle if you try to come up to me.”

The 23-year-old vowed to clear his name and have the drug test results overturned. But if the B-sample comes back positive as well, Garcia stands to have his career-making victory stricken from the record books.

Haney was the heavy betting favorite leading up to the April matchup, boasting a perfect 27-0 record and the WBC world title. But Garcia shocked the boxing world by knocking Haney down three times and controlling most of the action, winning via 114-113, 114-113, 113-114 scores.

The epic upset was dampened by Garcia missing weight the day prior, coming in over three pounds heavy at 143.8 pounds. As a result, only Garcia was eligible to win the world title. Now, both fighters stand to have their reputations tarnished from the drug test results.

McGregor and Garcia had previously exchanged pleasantries leading up to the Haney fight. But news of the failed test sent McGregor into a rage, threatening violent retribution in a potential boxing match or MMA bout.

While McGregor remains sidelined from MMA with a broken leg suffered in July 2021 , he is targeting a UFC return this summer against Michael Chandler. Perhaps we could see McGregor shift his sights to Garcia in the future, settling their beef mano a mano in the boxing ring. I sincerely hope you like reading this “Ryan Garcia Failed Drug Test, Conor McGregor ‘Disgusted’?” article.

Conor McGregor remains one of the most popular and polarizing figures in combat sports. The former two-division UFC champion is known for his brash personality, devastating left hand, and foray into boxing against Floyd Mayweather. However, McGregor has also become known in recent years for his retirement teases. He has “retired” multiple times via social media announcements, only to return to fighting months later. In this article we talk about Is Conor McGregor Retired? The Truth Behind the Rumors.

So when McGregor again declared himself retired in June 2022, after healing from the broken leg he suffered in his last fight, many fans and pundits were skeptical. Is McGregor really retiring this time, or is this just another break before he returns to pursue more big-money fights?

Why Did McGregor Retire Again?

On June 6th, 2022, McGregor posted a simple statement to his Twitter account: “MMA, I’ll never forget you! Easy work.”

This seemed to imply he was retiring from mixed martial arts competition. The post came nearly one year after McGregor broke his tibia and fibula against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

McGregor had surgery and went through a grueling rehabilitation process to recover. The injury and time off appears to have made him reconsider his fighting future.

UFC president Dana White reacted to the retirement announcement with skepticism.

“I think this will be the fourth or fifth time he’s retired,” White said. “When he announces he’s retiring, I just let Conor do his thing. I don’t try to talk him out of it or talk him into it.”

Previous McGregor Retirement Teases

As White referenced, this is far from the first time McGregor has stated he is retiring and walked away from MMA and boxing. A quick history of his retirement fakeouts:

– April 2016 – Tweeted “I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya’s later” after being pulled from UFC 200 for refusing to attend a press conference. Returned two days later.

– March 2019 – Announced retirement in an Instagram post after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Returned in 2020.

– June 2020 – Announced third retirement on Twitter during early days of Covid-19 pandemic. Returned in 2021.

– August 2022 – Posted “MMA, I’ll never forget you! Easy work” on Twitter one year after suffering broken leg against Poirier.

So history shows it would be foolish to fully believe McGregor is committed to retirement this time either. He likely just needs time off to heal and regain motivation.

Signs Pointing to Another Comeback

Despite his latest retirement tweet, there are already indications Conor McGregor is targeting an MMA comeback in 2023. These include:

– McGregor has maintained he wants a fourth fight against Poirier after suffering his first ever MMA knockout against him in 2021. Their series is currently 1-2 in favor of Poirier.

– Fellow lightweight contender Michael Chandler has repeatedly called out McGregor for a big money fight. McGregor has stated he’d be willing to face Chandler.

– UFC announcer Joe Rogan claimed on a September 2022 podcast he heard McGregor plans to return to begin training in early 2023.

– Updates and videos from McGregor’s social media show him looking healthy and fit in ongoing recovery. He appears ready to kick the training into high gear.

So despite his latest “retirement” tweet, all signs point to Conor plotting another Octagon comeback once he finishes rehabbing his leg. Early 2023 seems the targeted return date.

What About Boxing Again?

The other combat sports avenue for Conor McGregor is boxing. He made worldwide headlines for his 2017 crossover fight against Floyd Mayweather, which he lost via TKO in the 10th round.

Since then, McGregor has teased further boxing matches. He once stated he planned to box Manny Pacquiao in 2021, but the fight never materialized.

Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned pro boxer, has also tried goading McGregor into a boxing match. After knocking out MMA fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, Paul called out McGregor on social media and even offered him $50 million guaranteed to fight.

However, while McGregor remains under UFC contract, it seems unlikely he’ll box Paul or anyone else. UFC president Dana White would likely block any boxing return until McGregor fulfills his MMA contract.

There’s also the question of whether McGregor still has passion for boxing training after focusing on MMA for so many years. For now, a professional boxing comeback appears unlikely.

The Verdict – Will McGregor Stay Retired?

Given Conor McGregor’s history of retirement fakeouts and teases, smart money is on him returning to the Octagon in 2023. UFC president Dana White pays little mind to McGregor’s social media retirement proclamations at this point.

McGregor figures to take the remainder of 2022 off to fully heal his leg before resuming training. Once back to 100%, there are still big money MMA fights on the table against the likes of Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, and Nate Diaz.

A boxing comeback seems less realistic in the short term unless McGregor buys out his UFC deal. But he remains intent on avenging his losses in MMA first.

So while Conor McGregor tweeted “retirement” yet again, don’t expect him to stay away from fighting for long. Pencil in an MMA return fight date sometime in 2023. I sincerely hope you find this “Is Conor McGregor Retired? The Truth Behind the Rumors” article helpful.

Conor McGregor burst onto the UFC scene in 2013 and quickly established himself as one of the most captivating fighters the sport had ever seen. His brash personality, devastating striking skills, and undeniable charisma made him an instant star. Just four years into his UFC career, McGregor had already etched his name in the history books for his record-breaking accomplishments. So what makes Conor McGregor a certified UFC legend? Let’s take a look at Conor McGregor Stats: What Makes Him a UFC Legend.

Fastest Finish in a UFC Title Fight

At UFC 194 in 2015, McGregor challenged long-reigning featherweight champion Jose Aldo for the 145-pound belt. He shocked the world by knocking out Aldo in just 13 seconds with a perfectly-placed left hand punch. This still stands as the fastest finish ever in a UFC championship bout.

First Simultaneous Two-Division Champion

After capturing the featherweight title, McGregor set his sights on the lightweight division ruled by Eddie Alvarez. They met at UFC 205 in November 2016, where McGregor dominated Alvarez to win by second-round TKO. This made him the first fighter in UFC history to hold two championship belts at the same time.

Most Knockdowns Landed Per Minute

McGregor possesses devastating knockout power, especially in his left hand. His precision striking has produced a UFC record landing rate of 1.6 knockdowns per 15 minutes in the octagon. To put that into perspective, the average UFC fighter lands just 0.2 knockdowns per 15 minutes.

Highest Pay-Per-View Buy Rate

As his fame grew exponentially each time he stepped into the octagon, McGregor headlined four of the top six highest-selling UFC pay-per-view events ever, including a record 2.4 million PPV buys for his 2017 boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. UFC 229 against Khabib Nurmagomedov ranks #1 all-time at 2.4 million buys.

First Fighter to Hold Knockout Wins in Three Divisions

With his TKO victory over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at welterweight in January 2020, McGregor became the first fighter in UFC history to own knockout wins at featherweight, lightweight and welterweight.

Most Performance of the Night Bonuses

Over his 22-fight UFC career so far, McGregor has earned a record 7 “Performance of the Night” bonuses for his spectacular knockouts and submissions, totaling $3.5 million in extra income.

Highest Paid Athlete in UFC History

Thanks to his superstardom and box office appeal, McGregor is far and away the highest paid fighter the UFC has ever seen. According to Forbes, he earned an estimated $235 million total between May 2020 and May 2021. This includes paychecks as well as endorsements and business ventures.

First Fighter to Headline 5 Consecutive PPV Main Events

McGregor’s popularity is so massive that the UFC essentially had to alter their pay-per-view model because of him. He became the first fighter to headline five straight PPV events over the course of 2015 to 2016 when he was at his peak.

Most Combined Post-Fight Bonus Awards

McGregor also holds the record for most post-fight bonuses when you combine “Performance of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” awards. He has raked in an astounding 13 bonuses for an extra $7 million in his UFC run.

In Conclusion

When you look at the sheer impact Conor McGregor has made on the sport of MMA and the UFC as a promotional juggernaut, his legend status cannot be denied. His combination of athletic brilliance, box office appeal, and trailblazing accomplishments cement his place as one of the most iconic fighters of all time. Records are made to be broken, but many of McGregor’s stats and achievements seem unbeatable. It may be a long time before we see another talent of his caliber in the UFC. Conor McGregor has cemented his place as one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts history. With his brash personality, devastating striking skills, and multiple championship wins, he has become a global phenomenon transcending the sport. Let’s take a closer look at Conor McGregor Net Worth- How Much Is the MMA Legend Really Worth.

McGregor’s Current Net Worth Stands at $200 Million

According to multiple reports, Conor McGregor’s current net worth is estimated to be around $200 million. This makes him one of the wealthiest athletes in the world. The majority of his fortune has been built through fight purses, pay-per-view earnings, sponsorship and endorsements deals, and business ventures outside the Octagon.

His Biggest Payday – $100 Million for Mayweather Mega-Fight

In 2017, McGregor took part in a hugely lucrative boxing match against undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather. While he lost the fight by TKO in the 10th round, McGregor pocketed around $100 million for his effort. This remains the biggest paycheck of his career so far. The Mayweather bout brought his net worth to over $100 million at the time.

UFC Purses and PPV Points Have Contributed Tens of Millions

During his UFC career, McGregor has headlined 10 pay-per-view events that have reportedly sold over 18 million units worldwide. As the promotion’s top draw, he receives a cut of the PPV revenue for each of those events. His UFC 202 bout against Nate Diaz in 2016 drew a record 1.6 million PPV buys.

He also commands some of the highest fight purses in MMA. His guaranteed purse money totals nearly $30 million from disclosed figures alone. With PPV points added, his per-fight earnings likely reach eight figures on average.

Lucrative Sponsorship Deals with Major Brands

As his global fame grew, McGregor attracted sponsorship deals from major companies like Monster Energy, Reebok, and Beats by Dre. In 2018, he signed a multi-million dollar deal to become the face of the Burger King restaurant chain in Europe.

McGregor also has his own clothing line and sponsors his own Proper No. Twelve Irish whiskey brand which has sold hundreds of thousands of cases already. These business endeavors have substantially boosted his income in recent years.

Acting Debut in Blockbuster Remake Adds to Growing Fortune

In 2022, McGregor transitioned into a new venture – acting – with a major role in the action-packed remake of Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. McGregor claimed his paycheck for this debut acting gig broke the record for the highest salary ever paid to a first-time actor.

While the actual figure remains undisclosed, it was rumored to be more than the $5.5 million Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson received for his own debut in The Mummy Returns. So McGregor’s net worth will have surged thanks to his turn in Road House.

Luxury Lifestyle – Mansions, Supercars, Jewelry

A multi-millionaire sports superstar and one of the most famous athletes alive, Conor McGregor lives an extravagant lifestyle outside the cage.

He owns a lavish $2 million mansion in Ireland, a $3.5 million villa in Marbella, Spain, and was looking to buy a $17 million mega-mansion in Los Angeles at one point. His luxury car collection includes a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, Rolls Royce Ghost, Cadillac Escalade, BMW i8, and more.

McGregor also loves buying expensive jewelry for himself and his family. In 2018, he purchased a $466,000 Jacob & Co watch. And he spent around $2.5 million on a stunning emerald ring for his long-time partner Dee Devlin.

Final Word

With earnings from fights, endorsements, business deals, and now movies, Conor McGregor’s net worth stands at an incredible $200 million. He is by far the wealthiest MMA fighter ever and one of the richest athletes in sports.

At just 34 years of age, his fortune will likely keep growing as his career continues. A return to the UFC Octagon is expected in 2023 along with more blockbuster paydays to come. Outside the cage, McGregor is expanding his business empire with new ventures.

So $200 million could just be the start of the incredible wealth built by the fighter known as “Notorious”. No matter what he does next, Conor McGregor will remain a hugely popular and wealthy superstar for years to come.
