“Extra’s” Renee Bargh spoke with Alfre Woodard at the Hollywood premiere of “The Lion King,” where she discussed what she loved most about the film.

Alfre voices Sarabi, the mother of Simba and widow of Mufasa. She said, “The lionesses are the members of a pride. The men come and go. The pride is held up by the women. They’re the ones that do the hunting. They’re the ones that mark the territory. I love that Jon Favreau brought the lionesses forward.”

“The Lion King” hits theaters July 19.
